Renewal Options by Certification Level
In accordance of R911-5-204, an individual seeking license renewal must submit all requirements at least 30 days before the expiration of the individual's current license.
The NCCP (National Continued Competency Program) is the recert model in NREMT. If you are not affiliated with an agency, follow NREMT's recert guide to add in their hours for recertification. Each educational requirement is broken down like the following:
- National Component Requirements (NCP)

- Individual Component Requirements (ICP)
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Renewal
To renew your EMR license, complete one of the following options below by August 31 of your expiration year.

Blood Draw Permit
To renew your Blood Draw Permit, complete the following steps 3 months prior to the expiration date:
- Log into Utah’s License Management System
- Start a Blood Draw Permit application. This must include:
- A Letter of Competency from current employer, or
- Verification from a physician attesting to compentcey
- Submit Utah application.
- Pay application fees.
Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Verification
To renew your EMD Verification, complete the following steps by August 31 of your expiration year:
Log into Utah’s License Management System
- Start an Emergency Medical Dispatcher Verification application. This must include:
- A Supervisor Letter verifying EMD certification.
- BLS Certification
- Submit application.
- Pay application fees.
Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) Endorsement
To renew your CCP Endorsement, complete the following steps 3 months prior to the expiration date:
- Start an Critical Care Paramedic Endorsement application. This must include:
- IBS Certificate
- Submit Application.
- Pay application fees.
